![]() The game range from nostalgic moments (the campfire), to beautiful moments, to mysterious moments. It's slow paced because it is meant to enjoyed. The whole chapter is basically one of the best gaming experience I had in my life. You're basically discovering a village you're about to visit soon. ![]() That moment not only featured peaceful and beautiful moments (with an amazing soundtrack), it was also about character building. It almost feels like you hate taking your time. The duo Ryo/Ren works amazingly well and I enjoyed every scene.Īs for your comment about the last CD in Guilin. Each floor has its own gimmick and it never felt the same. The Yellow Head building ascension was amazing. In 30 minutes, you have basically enough money for the whole game. There's a lot of easy lucky hit spots, in which, when you find the correct spot to drop, is like a 90% win. The game is super generous when it comes to money. I don't recognize myself in your experience about it being "tedious". I feel like we didn't play the same game at all OP. It all went downhill once I met up with Ren. ![]() The only good memories I can recall was early on when I was learning the Wude and meeting different masters. I think Shenmue 2 gets worse the more you play it. So, you get done doing a hard actual fight and then the game decides to say fuck all that, you only win if you do this QTE and if you miss you lose the whole fight. Even worse, some fights actually have to end this way. The problem is the screen is so terrible you can't see what the hell is happening so nine times out of then I fail because I literally cannot see the button combo I'm supposed to press. Many of the events and characters will be familiar. Level.Īnd the QTE is the worst in Shenmue 2 because of the added, stop-time and follow the button combo type of QTE. It actually contains a very nice video featuring Shenmue when it was still scheduled for release on the Saturn. 17 fucking flights of stairs, each level filled with garbage QTE and mob fights. Like, the final level where you have to climb the Yellow Building. Shenmue 2 seems designed to make you go crazy, so much goddamn padding. I'm sorry, but Shenmue 1 is the better paced game. The slowest walk ever broke up by terrible QTE, dumb conversations, then more terrible QTES. ![]() There are missable collectibles, missable side missions, missable combat trophies and just your normal, everyday missable trophies - during this first playthrough, youre going to be trying to get them all. Whose idea was it to have that painfully slow, dumb ending? You have to walk for AGES to get to the damn Bailu Village. Stage 1: The Complicated Playthrough When we say this is complicated, were really not kidding. ![]()
